Apple Pie "Moonshine" Ingredients

To make a killer batch of "apple pie moonshine" you're going to need more than just cinnamon. We think it's best when it also includes allspice, cloves, orange peel, ginger, vanilla bean, and even a bit of black and pink peppercorn to give it some spice. Simply put, adding some cinnamon and apple juice to a batch of white whiskey will make a good batch of apple pie shine, but it won't make a great batch

When we tested this recipe we used store bought white whiskey.

Apple Pie "Moonshine" Spice Mix

Here at Clawhammer, we take pride in knowing our way around whiskey. Apple pie shine is one of our favorites and we've made many a batch. In fact, when we were in the process of developing our Apple Pie Moonshine Spice Mix, we tried dozens of variations on this American classic. We drank ourselves silly testing the stuff out, then enlisted the help of friends and family. They happily guzzled down jar after jar to aid in our pursuit of excellence. After months of testing, we finally made "the perfect batch."

How to Make "The Perfect Batch"

To make a batch of "apple pie moonshine" with our spice mix, simply combine the tin of spices with 4 cans of apple juice concentrate and 6 cups of 80 proof white whiskey (any kind will do but Ole Smoke White Lightnin works best). Leave it sit for 24-48 hours then strain. Store in quart jars and refrigerate until you're ready to drink it. That's it!

Ok so here is what I do for my recipe. Which I got from another post on this site about how to make Apple Pie. 32 oz of Hooch, 3 Cans of Concentrate (do not add any water), 1 cup of Brown Sugar, 6-8 Cinnamon Sticks, one vanilla bean split down the middle. Add everything except to shine to your crockpot and steep overnight. Remove and cool and then mix in the Shine. I strain mine through a coffee filter that I line a funnel with and pour right into jars. Hope this helps!!!

    Guys, do the math…
4 12 oz cans of apple juice concentrate is 48 oz.
6 cups of shine is 48 oz.
that’s 96 oz or 3 quarts – which is exactly what the recipe says it will make.

Since this is my first post on here, let me say that I am so very glad to have found this site. The still took some effort to put together but it works like a charm! I sent an e-mail with questions on the day after I ordered and emmet got back to me the very next day. Great product, great service…great company to do business with!

Has anyone answered the question about diluting the concentrate like the apple juice can reads or not? Plus what do you use to strain the finished product? Thank-you in Advance John

So I see everyone is asking the same question on the apple juice concentrate, so what size apple juice cans and is it mixed with water as per instructions of the can. I have made my own version of apple Pie Moon Shine using everclear 150 proof (750 ml) and 1 bottle of Vanilla Vodka and 1 gal of apple juice and it makes 11 pint jars but I would like to try and use your spices with this recipe. What is your opinion, does it seem that the alcohol volume is not as much as you use.
